Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation
The human body is a complex system
Often, musculoskeletal problems arise in the form of pain and/or physical limitations that make it difficult to fully function and enjoy a desired quality of life. Identifying the true source of that pain is key in developing the most effective treatment plan.
Our Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Specialists
Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) doctors are specialty trained in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders, particularly related to the nerves, muscles, bones and brain that may produce temporary or permanent impairment. Sometimes pain can present in parts of the body such as shoulders, hips and knees that actually emanates from a disorder of the spine that can be addressed through conservative non surgical treatment. Advanced diagnostic tools help pinpoint the exact cause of pain, and there are a number of modalities and non surgical procedures available to dramatically improve quality of life.
These lists are not inclusive of all conditions and procedures. In order to obtain a complete and accurate diagnosis, a physician should assess your individual situation. Following diagnosis, your physician will discuss appropriate treatment options with you – both surgical and non-surgical. Schedule an appointment with an Orthopedic ONE physician.
