A Patient Story
Dr. Ferrel is the ‘Miracle Doctor’, let me explain. I had ‘drop foot’ (df) prior to the surgery performed by Dr. Ferrel & Team, and for 16 years. The df was due to surgery complications, due to a screw possibly hitting a nerve. Since then, there was so much weakness in my legs, back and other areas. I’d later receive ablations, injections, surgeries, and more, to offset some of the pain.
Finally, I had enough of masking the pain and was later referred to Dr. Ferrel. I explained to him what happened in 2006, when I woke up from surgery with ‘drop foot’. I also explained that a prior MRI revealed that it was likely due to a screw. Other Doctors said that I likely would not recover from that mistake, they basically wrote me off, versus considering a revision surgery. I’m addition to the partial paralysis (drop foot), I had bulging disc and other issues in the back. Dr. Ferrel said that he could help with the compression, but wasn’t sure about the drop foot. After recently losing my mom, I told him that she said it will go well, before she died. I said what if I lose the drop foot. He smiled and basically said he will do his best. I then said, that I know you will, because my mom said you will. Days later, he performed the surgery. Immediately upon waking up from the procedure, I was able to wiggle my toes and move my feet, up and down. I cried so hard that day. This man was blessed by God and my mom when he performed what I consider a miracle surgery. Though I need to recover and am still weak, I actually moved my toes and can do so much more. Dr. Ferrel did something that he himself was amazed by. To that, thank you Dr. Ferrel, for helping me get a second chance. You are a blessing and it brings solace to me knowing that my mom was right, you are forged in his blood. A powerful soldier with gifted and forged hands. 🙏
