A Patient Story
I suffered from extreme pain on my right side due to inflamed tissue encroaching on the areas where the nerves leave the spine. This pain became increasingly worse, and I was becoming worried about the future. I would be limping into work and toughing it out as I tried everything from physical therapy, to x-rays, to medication. I didn’t want to take much medication, as I knew that would only mask the problem as it progressed.
I was finally referred to Dr. Ferrell, and he immediately ordered an MRI. From there, he recommended a procedure to open up the nerve passages. The surgery was exactly as described, went very well, and the recovery was fine.
I’ll tell you what, I feel like a new man! The procedure was several months ago, and now I’m fully healed. The pain was 99% gone the day I left the surgery center. My flexibility is coming back (as unconsciously I limited my movements due to the pain), and people at work have noticed that I am now walking upright and not limping.
Let me take this opportunity to express my deepest thanks for the new lease on life this has afforded me. Before my surgery, simple things were not so simple. I couldn’t stand up for more than a minute. Tasks like going food shopping were a dreaded necessity. No longer, like most people, I can now take standing and walking for granted again.
