Sports Physical Therapy Residency Program at Orthopedic One

The mission of the Orthopedic ONE Sports Physical Therapy Residency is to provide quality post-professional education to prepare the physical therapist resident to become a specialist in the area of sports physical therapy while providing enhanced patient care with a specific emphasis in acute injury management of athletic injuries across the lifespan.

Curriculum

Clinical Practice

  1. One on one mentoring 5 hours/week
  2. Non-mentored 25 hours/week
  3. 10+ hours in professional soccer club
  4. Sports coverage in community

Didactic

  1. Weekly Learning Modules 1 hour/week’
  2. Journal Club 1 hour/month
  3. CSM 24 hours/year
  4. Physician shadowing/surgery observation
  5. Independent study

Application Process

Applications should be completed through the American Physical Therapy Association’s centralized application system (RF-PTCA). Top candidates will be interviewed at Orthopedic One November – January.

Admission Criteria:

  • Graduation from an accredited physical therapy program
  • Licensed to practice physical therapy in the state of Ohio
  • Successful completion of on-line application

Application deadline: June 9, 2025
