What is a Physical Therapist?

Physical therapists (PT) evaluate patients and develop treatment programs to restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities. The physical therapist then determines the appropriate course of treatment for the patient to perform activities of daily living, reintegrate into the community or workplace, or return to a specific sport.
