Patient Reported Outcomes
What are Patient Reported Outcomes (PROs)?
Patient–reported outcome surveys offer patients the opportunity to report on their perception of their mobility, functional status, and quality of life.
Your Orthopedic ONE providers are interested in your perceptions of overall health status:
- before your procedure and at set intervals following your procedure to understand outcomes over time, typically at 3 months, 6 months, 1 year and 2 year.
- at your initial therapy services appointment, and at re-evaluation, regardless of whether a procedure was performed.
Why are Patient Reported Outcomes important?
Patient–reported information helps healthcare providers better understand how musculoskeletal procedures and care improve symptoms, which supports efforts to improve the quality of life and quality of care continually.
Patient-reported outcomes are often required for insurance precertification processes.
What is your Role in providing Patient Reported Outcomes?
Patient Reported Outcomes provide us with a better picture of the whole healing process. A holistic view cannot be captured without a patient’s perspective. Taking the time to participate in patient surveys will help positively impact your future care and the care of many other patients.
You will be asked to complete Outcome Forms at various times during your care and recovery process. These important questions are designed to track your physical recovery as well as the improvement to the overall quality of your life. Each survey generally takes less than 10 minutes to complete.
Outcome forms will be sent to your Patient Portal for ease of completion. For those who decline the patient portal, paper forms will be provided.
