Dr. John Hwang is a orthopedic surgeon with fellowship training in orthopedic trauma. Dr. Hwang earned his medical degree from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey Medical School and completed his orthopedic residency there as well.
Dr. Hwang will support the new level II trauma care center for critical and complex emergency cases at Mount Carmel East Hospital.
Dr. John Hwang is an accomplished orthopedic surgeon who specializes in orthopedic trauma. He received his medical degree from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey Medical School, and also completed his orthopedic residency there, where he was elected chief resident and awarded the programs chief resident research award. Dr. Hwang then went on to complete an orthopedic trauma fellowship program at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC.
Throughout his career, Dr. Hwang has made significant contributions to the field of orthopedic surgery. He has published over 20 peer-reviewed publications, contributed to 4 book chapters, and presented at more than 20 local, regional, and national conferences. He has also received numerous awards and grants.
Currently, Dr. Hwang serves as the Program Director of the Mount Carmel Orthopedic Residency Program and provides orthopedic trauma care at Mount Carmel East.
