Dr. Jason Ferrel is a board-certified Orthopedic Surgeon and Sports Medicine Physician with dual fellowship subspecialty training in orthopedic sports medicine surgery and spine surgery. Raised in Canton, Ohio, Dr. Ferrel earned his medical degree from Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine, where he was ranked first in a class of 104. He completed his orthopedic residency with Mount Carmel Health System in Columbus, Ohio, where he served as Chief Orthopedic Surgery Resident and earned the John R. Kean Resident of the Year award. He completed a spine surgery fellowship at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah, and a sports medicine fellowship at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky.
He joined Orthopedic ONE in 2017 and enjoys caring for athletes and active individuals of all ages. Dr. Ferrel’s practice now focuses on orthopedic surgery and sports medicine conditions of the shoulder and knee. He also treats cartilage injuries and utilizes ortho biologics as appropriate.

- Managing failed and revision rotator cuff repairs
- Shoulder arthritis (arthropathy) and shoulder replacement (arthroplasty)
- Managing complications after shoulder replacement, such as infection and instability
- Shoulder dislocations and labral repair surgery

- Ligament tears and ligament reconstruction
- Meniscus tears and meniscus repair and preservation
- Cartilage injury and cartilage restoration and regenerative techniques (osteochondral allografts and autografts, and autologous chondrocyte implantation)

Dr. Ferrel enjoys being involved in the community, and time spent with family and friends, especially in the mountains.
