ORTHOPEDIC ONE WELCOMES SIX NEW PHYSICIANS

Increasing patient access to specialty orthopedic care across the central Ohio region

COLUMBUS, OHIO (September 11, 2022) – Orthopedic ONE is pleased to announce six physicians who have recently joined or will join the practice this fall, increasing the group’s roster to 69 orthopedic and musculoskeletal specialists. All six are accepting new patients at locations across the practice’s central Ohio footprint including Canal Winchester, Gahanna/Reynoldsburg, Grove City, Hilliard, Upper Arlington and Westerville.

MEET ORTHOPEDIC ONE’S NEWEST PHYSICIANS:

Evan Berlin, M.D.

Evan Berlin, M.D., is a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physician with fellowship-training in Interventional Spine & Musculoskeletal Medicine. He specializes in the diagnosis and non-surgical care of spine, joint and soft tissue disorders. He works collaboratively with our team of Orthopedic Surgeons to treat patients with disabling conditions using minimally invasive procedures, including spine injections and nerve blocks. He has special interest in basivertebral nerve ablation which is a treatment for chronic low back pain.

Dr. Berlin earned his undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University and his medical degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED). He completed his Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency, where he served as Chief Resident, with a distinction in biomedical ethics, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. He went on to complete a North American Spine Society Interventional Spine & Musculoskeletal Fellowship at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California, before moving back to his home state of Ohio to begin practice with Orthopedic ONE.

Dr. Berlin is available to see patients at Orthopedic ONE’s Grove City and Westerville locations.

William Burgette, D.O.

William Burgette, D.O., is a fellowship-trained total joint surgeon who has been in practice in central Ohio since 2017. His specialties include primary and revision total knee and hip arthroplasty and minimally invasive total joint arthroplasty. He has extensive training and special interest in performing MAKO Robotic-Assisted joint replacements.

An Ohio native, Dr. Burgette received his undergraduate degree from Bowling Green State University and his medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency with the Cleveland Clinic Health System and went on to complete an Adult Reconstruction Fellowship at Buffalo General Hospital in Buffalo, New York.

Following fellowship, Dr. Burgette returned to Ohio to start practice. Prior to joining Orthopedic ONE, he was an employed orthopedic physician at OhioHealth.

Dr. Burgette is available to see patients at Orthopedic ONE’s Dublin office.

Ryan Jefferson, M.D.

Ryan Jefferson, M.D., is a Reconstructive Plastic Surgeon with dedicated subspecialty fellowship training in Orthopedic Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery. He is a candidate member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, and has broad and unique experience in surgery of the hand and upper extremity. His focus is treating conditions of the hand, wrist, forearm, and elbow. His practice encompasses all aspects of care for both adults and children. Additionally, his background in Reconstructive and Plastic Surgery has afforded him extensive experience in nerve injury, reconstruction, and compression; complex bony and soft tissue reconstruction; and micro-neurovascular surgery throughout the body.

Dr. Jefferson received his undergraduate degree in Exercise Science and Kinesiology from The Ohio State University, where he was a four-year distinguished scholar athlete on the University Men’s Swim and Diving Team. He earned his medical degree from The University of Toledo College of Medicine where he was ranked in the top 5% of graduates nationwide. He then completed his residency training at The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center in the Department of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery.  After residency, he completed fellowship training in orthopedic hand and upper extremity surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.

Emily Wynkoop, M.D.

Emily Wynkoop, M.D., is a fellowship-trained Orthopedic Sports Medicine surgeon with special interest in shoulder replacement surgery, arthroscopic shoulder and knee surgery, ACL reconstruction, and rotator cuff surgery.

After receiving her undergraduate degree from Kent State University, in Kent, Ohio, Dr. Wynkoop earned her medical degree from the Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) in Rootstown, Ohio. She then went on to complete her orthopedic residency at University of Toledo Medical Center, followed by advanced fellowship-training in orthopedic sports medicine at Beacon Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in Cincinnati, Ohio. 

Dedicated to keeping athletes of all levels healthy and active, she has served as Team Physician to Rogers High School and Northwood High School football teams, as well as Moeller High School. She was an assistant team physician for Wittenberg University and the Cincinnati Reds.

Dr. Wynkoop is available to see patients at Orthopedic ONE’s Canal Winchester and Gahanna/Reynoldsburg locations.
