ORTHOPEDIC ONE GROWS BY FIVE NEW PHYSICIANS
Increasing patient access across the central Ohio region
COLUMBUS, OHIO (August 25, 2022) – Orthopedic ONE is pleased to announce five physicians who have recently joined or will join the practice this month – increasing the group’s roster to 63 orthopedic and musculoskeletal specialists. All five are now accepting new patients at locations across the practice’s central Ohio footprint including Dublin, Grove City, Hilliard, Upper Arlington and Westerville.

This announcement follows a recent renovation of the practice’s Delaware location which now offers additional specialty care, on-site imaging and expanded therapy services. This fall, the group looks forward to opening two stand-alone physical therapy sites in Canal Winchester and north Columbus, and a larger physician clinic in Dublin. Additionally, construction continues on the group’s new Westerville clinic and administrative headquarters, which is scheduled to complete in spring 2023.
Orthopedic ONE’s newest physicians:
Dr. Blackwell is a fellowship-trained Orthopedic Sports Medicine Surgeon who will care for patients at the Dublin location. He specializes in sports medicine and knee and shoulder surgery, including rotator cuff repair, ACL reconstruction, joint preservation surgery, tendon and ligament treatment and repair, and anatomic and reverse shoulder replacement.
He received his undergraduate degree from Michigan State University, then earned his medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine. He remained in the Buckeye State to complete his orthopedic surgery residency at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center where he assisted in providing sports medicine coverage for The Ohio State University Basketball teams. He recently completed a sports medicine fellowship at The Steadman Hawkins Clinic in Denver, where he served on the sports medicine care team for the U.S. Ski and Snowboard teams, Denver Broncos, Colorado Rockies and Colorado Rapids.
Dr. French is a fellowship-trained orthopedic trauma surgeon, who cares for patients at the groups Upper Arlington location. An experienced trauma surgeon with an established central Ohio practice, Dr. French offers specialized training in the treatment of pelvic and acetabular fractures, as well as fractures that occur around major joints. He is an expert in treating open and closed fractures, dislocations of extremities, and complex articular injuries.
He received his medical degree from the University of Massachusetts Medical School, and went on to complete a general surgery internship and orthopedic residency at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn, New York. He also completed an orthopedic trauma fellowship at Ohio Health Grant Medical Center, where he went on to practice for many years.
Dr. French resides in Columbus with his wife and three children. He looks forward to partnering closely with Orthopedic ONE trauma surgeon, Corey Van Hoff, MD, supporting Riverside’s Trauma Center.
Dr. Kelvin Luu is a fellowship-trained Orthopedic Sports Medicine Surgeon who will care for patients at the groups Westerville location. He specializes in sports medicine, shoulder arthroplasty, and arthroscopy of the shoulder, hip and knee. He has specific interests in complex shoulder arthroplasty, shoulder instability, rotator cuff repair, hip preservation, ACL reconstruction, patellar instability, and knee arthroplasty.
After graduating from the University of Pittsburgh, he earned his medical degree at New York Medical College. Following graduation, he completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Mount Carmel Health System, and recently finalized his fellowship training in orthopedic surgery sports medicine at the University of North Carolina. While in North Carolina, he was team physician for the North Carolina State Wolfpack football, wrestling and women’s basketball teams, as well as the University of North Carolina men’s basketball team.
Dr. Strimbu is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with more than 30 years of experience available to treat patients at the Dublin location. Relocating from a private orthopedic group in Cleveland to be closer to family in central Ohio, Dr. Strimbu will serve Orthopedic ONE in a non-operative, general orthopedic role.
From chronic back pain, to acute workers comp injuries, to sports-related ankle pain – Dr. Strimbu will have open access to evaluate and provide conservative treatment for all musculoskeletal conditions, and he’ll work directly with our surgeons when surgical intervention is needed. He completed his medical degree and orthopedic surgery residency at Case Western Reserve University, and went on to complete fellowship training in sports medicine at the Braemar Sports Medicine Center.
Dr. Wetzel is an Orthopedic Surgeon with fellowship-training in Adult Reconstructive Surgery who will care for patients at the Grove City and Hilliard locations. He specializes in total and partial knee replacements, direct anterior hip replacement, and revision of previous hip and knee replacements. Dr. Wetzel follows a rapid recovery approach to joint replacement, with the goal of getting his patients back home and to their normal routine.
He received his undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University and earned his medical degree from the University of Toledo College of Medicine. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Mount Carmel Health System and recently finalized a fellowship in adult reconstructive surgery at the Florida Orthopedic Institute.
